Your home page is the first thing a visitor sees. It's also the most edited page on any church site — pastors typically tweak it monthly as ministries change. The good news: every block on the home page is editable, and changes go live the moment you click Save.
Open the page builder
- Go to Pages.
- Click Home at the top of the list.
- You're now in the page builder. The left side is your editing controls; the right side is a live preview that matches what visitors see.
The blocks you can edit
Out of the box your home page has these sections (you can hide or reorder any of them):
- Hero — the big top section with your tagline and a Visit-Us call to action.
- About — a short intro to your church, with optional photo.
- Events — upcoming events from your calendar (auto-updates as you add events).
- Groups — Sunday Schools, Bible studies, and ministries.
- Leaders — pastors and staff with photos and bios.
- Messages — recent sermons (auto-pulls from your published sermons).
- Giving — a Give Online button + brief encouragement to give.
- Contact — address, phone, service times, contact form.
Quick wins for a more polished home page
- Replace the hero photo. A real photo of your sanctuary or congregation is dramatically warmer than the stock placeholder. One photo, 2000px wide, JPEG.
- Rewrite the hero tagline. "Welcome to {Your Church Name}" is fine; something specific like "A Bible-believing church in {City}" is better.
- Add 2–3 leaders with photos. Visitors trust a site more when they can see faces. Even a phone-shot headshot is fine.
- Reorder sections to match your priorities. Drag the section headers. If your church's main draw is the youth ministry, move Groups higher.
Saving and previewing
- Every change saves automatically as a draft.
- Click Publish (top-right) to make changes live.
- The preview pane shows what visitors see with unpublished drafts so you can iterate without flipping back to the public site.
I clicked something and the layout broke
Open the page builder, hit Undo (top-left). All changes are reversible.
