Your home page is the first thing a visitor sees, and it's the page most churches come back to edit as ministries change. Every block on it is editable, and nothing changes for visitors until you decide to publish it.
Open the page builder
- Go to Pages.
- In the Home Page card at the top, click Edit Home Page.
- You're now in the page builder. Your page fills the screen and you edit it right on the page: click a block and its settings open in a panel beside it, with Edit, Add and Layers tabs. On a phone or a narrow window that panel opens as a drawer instead.
The blocks you can edit
Your home page opens with these sections, which you can hide or reorder:
- Hero: the big top section with your tagline and up to two buttons. You choose each button's label and where it links.
- About: a short intro to your church, with an optional photo.
- Events: upcoming items pulled automatically from your calendar.
- Small Groups: Sunday Schools, Bible studies, and ministries.
- Leadership: pastors and staff with photos and bios.
- Watch & Listen: recent sermons, pulled automatically from what you've published.
- FAQs: common questions and answers.
- Giving: a Give Online section. It only shows on your public site once online giving is set up (a paid plan with a connected bank account) or you've added a link to an outside giving page. Until then visitors don't see it.
- Contact: address, phone, service times, a contact form.
Where to spend your time first
- Replace the hero photo. A real photo of your sanctuary or congregation reads warmer than the stock placeholder. One photo, 2000px wide, JPEG, is enough.
- Rewrite the hero tagline. "Welcome to {Your Church Name}" is fine, but something specific, like "A Bible-believing church in {City}," says more.
- Add two or three leaders with photos. Visitors trust a site more when they can see faces. Even a phone-shot headshot works.
- Reorder the sections. Use the move arrows or the drag handle that appear on a block when you hover it, or reorder from the Layers tab. If your church's main draw is the youth ministry, move Groups higher.
Saving and previewing
- Every change saves automatically as a draft.
- Click Publish (top-right) to make changes live.
- What you see in the builder includes your unpublished drafts, so you can iterate without flipping back to the public site. Preview in the top bar opens your public site in a new tab.
- The top bar's device buttons switch the canvas between desktop, tablet and phone widths so you can check how it looks on each.
I clicked something and the layout broke
Hit Undo in the top bar (or press Cmd/Ctrl+Z). On a screen narrower than a laptop the Undo and Redo buttons are hidden, so use the keyboard shortcut or a wider window.
