Sermons with an audio file also go into your podcast feed

How to upload sermons
to your church website

You add a sermon once, from Content → Sermons, and it appears on your website and in the member app. You fill in the title, speaker, Scripture reference, date and a short description, and you can add a thumbnail.

You clickPublish

Your church website

The sermon goes on your website's sermons page, and it gets its own page with a link you can share.

The member app

Members can browse every sermon and series from their phone.

The player

A YouTube or Vimeo link plays right on the sermon page. So does a direct audio file. A Facebook link gets a Watch on Facebook button.

Your podcast feed

When a sermon links to an MP3 or M4A file, it also becomes an episode in your church's podcast feed.

The sermon form recognises YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook video links and direct audio or video files, and it tells you what it found. Step by step: publish your first sermon.

Automatic YouTube sermon import

If your church already streams or uploads to YouTube, turn on YouTube Auto-Import in your church settings and choose your channel's uploads or one playlist. New videos appear as sermons on your website and in the app on their own, and up to 50 of the videos already there come in too.

It can read the speaker and Scripture from lines in the video description, like “Speaker: Pastor John”. You can still edit the title, speaker and series afterwards, and your changes stay. YouTube Auto-Import is part of the paid plans.

Paste a YouTube, Vimeo or audio link

Paste the link and the sermon form tells you what it found. YouTube and Vimeo videos play right on the sermon page, and so does a direct link to an audio file. You can add a handout link too, for notes or discussion questions you host anywhere.

Hover to switch sources.

Handout

Sermon series your visitors can browse

A series groups sermons on one page, with its own artwork, description and dates. Mark one series as current and it is featured at the top of your sermons page and in the member app. Visitors can search the archive and filter it by series, speaker or year, and every sermon has its own page and link to share.

Hover to browse the series.

Schedule sermons ahead of time

Every sermon can be a draft, scheduled or published. Add it on Monday, set it for 9:00 Sunday morning, and it goes live at 9:00 in your church's own timezone. Blog posts, events and pages can be scheduled the same way.

Hover the preview and add one yourself.

A podcast feed for your church

Every church gets a podcast feed at its own address, like yourchurch.easychurchapp.com/podcast.xml, or yourchurch.org/podcast.xml on your own domain. A YouTube-only or Vimeo-only sermon has no audio file, so it does not become an episode.

  1. 1Publish a sermon whose link is a direct audio file, an .mp3 or .m4a address.
  2. 2It becomes an episode in your church's podcast feed.
  3. 3Submit the feed to Apple Podcasts and Spotify once. After they approve it, new episodes show up there without any extra work.

Sermons with an audio file are added as you publish them.

Call it what your church calls it

If your church says Messages, Teachings or Homilies, you can rename Sermons to that word in your church settings, and your website uses it.

Your church website can also run in Spanish.

Let an AI assistant post the sermon

On a paid plan, you can connect ChatGPT or Claude and ask it to add this week's sermon from the details you give it. You decide whether it may only draft sermons or also publish them.

Frequently asked questions

Can we post sermons from YouTube?

Yes. Paste the YouTube link into the sermon form. On a paid plan you can also turn on YouTube Auto-Import, and new videos from your channel come in automatically.

Do we need to upload video files?

No. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link, or a direct link to an audio file hosted anywhere.

Does EasyChurchApp make a podcast for our church?

Yes. Sermons with a direct audio link become episodes in your church's podcast feed. You submit that feed to Apple Podcasts and Spotify once, and after they approve it, new episodes appear there on their own.

Why is a sermon missing from our podcast?

Only sermons with an audio file link become episodes. A sermon that is only a YouTube or Vimeo link has no audio to put in the feed.

Can we keep some sermons for our members only?

Yes. Mark a sermon Members Only and only people signed in to your church can watch it. Everyone else sees a short note asking them to sign in, and the sermon stays out of your series pages, your podcast feed and search engines.

Can we schedule a sermon to go live on Sunday?

Yes. Set the sermon to Scheduled and pick the date and time. It goes live at that time in your church's timezone.

Can we call them Messages instead of Sermons?

Yes. You can rename Sermons to your own word, and your website uses it.

Is the sermon library free?

Yes. Sermons, series and the podcast feed are included on every plan, including the free plan for up to 10 active accounts. YouTube Auto-Import needs a paid plan.
