Delete Your Account
You can delete your EasyChurchApp account and personal data from inside the app, from the web portal, or by emailing support. Use whichever route is easiest — they all reach the same place.
From the mobile app
- Open the EasyChurchApp app on your phone
- Sign in if you aren’t already
- Go to More → Profile
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account
- Follow the on-screen steps to confirm
From the web portal
- Sign in to your church’s EasyChurchApp portal
- Go to Account settings
- Open the Delete my account section
- Follow the on-screen steps to confirm
By email (no app required)
If you no longer have the app installed or can’t sign in, email us from the address on your account. We’ll verify you’re the account holder and process the deletion on your behalf.

You can also remove individual items from your account without closing it. These actions take effect immediately and don’t require contacting support.
Messages you sent
- Mobile app: Tap and hold the message → Delete. Works in both direct messages and group chat.
- Web portal: Open the conversation → tap the message’s menu (⋯) → Delete.
Prayer requests you posted
Open your prayer request in the web portal → tap Delete. The request is removed from the community feed immediately and cannot be recovered.
Optional profile fields (phone, birthday, address, etc.)
Open Profile in the app or web portal → edit the field → save it blank. The previous value is overwritten and not retained.
For anything else — your account itself, your giving history, or records associated with you that you can’t see in the app — use the full deletion options above or email support@easychurchapp.com.
How the flow works
When you request deletion (in-app or web), we send a confirmation link to your registered email. The link is valid for 24 hours.
After you confirm, your account enters a 14-day cooling-off period. A banner appears across the app with a one-click Cancel button. You can still sign in and use the app during this window.
At the end of the cooling-off period, an automated job permanently removes your personal data and signs you out. We send one final confirmation email when it’s done.
Email-based requests skip the in-app flow but follow the same 14-day cooling-off period — we reply with a confirmation link you click from the email address on file.
What gets deleted vs retained
The short version: your login, profile, and most personal content are deleted by default. Some categories (prayer requests, group attendance) are anonymized by default so the church’s records remain intact — you can override these to fully delete during the request.
A small number of categories are retained per policy: giving records are kept for 7 years to comply with IRS donation recordkeeping (your name is anonymized on the receipt); children’s profiles you created are archived as church safeguarding records, with your parental link removed.

Special cases
You’re the only admin of your church. Before you can delete your account, the church needs another path forward — either promote another member to admin so they can take over, or email support@easychurchapp.com to close the church entirely.
You’re a member of multiple churches. Each membership is deleted separately. Request deletion from inside each church to clear all of your records, or email support and ask us to delete every membership tied to your email.
You’re a parent with child profiles. When your account is deleted, your link to each child profile is removed. The child records themselves remain with the church as safeguarding records per the church’s retention policy. To fully remove a child’s record, ask your church administrator directly.
You changed your mind during cooling-off. Open the app or the web portal, sign in, and tap Cancel deletion — nothing has been deleted yet, and the request is dropped immediately.
