Small group software
that group leaders can run themselves

EasyChurchApp gives every small group a page on your church website and a space in the member app, with its own feed, chat, events and attendance. The group leader approves new people, posts updates and takes attendance without needing admin access to the rest of your site.

Groups are included on every plan, including the free plan for up to 10 active accounts.

A small group directory on your church website

Published groups appear on your church website, so a visitor can see what groups you have before they ever come on a Sunday. Each group gets a readable web address you can put in the bulletin. You choose which member shows as the leader, and which groups show in the Groups section of your home page.

Hover the preview and filter it yourself.

What a group leader can do

A group leader can approve or decline join requests, remove members, post to the group feed, pin important posts, add group events and record attendance. They can also edit the group's details and its page. None of this needs admin access, so the church office is not the bottleneck. A few things stay with your staff: the group's web address, whether it is published, and who can see it.

Hover to approve someone.

A follower keeps up with the group’s announcements from a distance, without joining the chat: someone who moved away, or is not ready to commit.

Group feed, announcements and chat

Each group opens on a feed that pulls together its announcements and upcoming events, with the most important post pinned at the top. When a leader posts, the group's members are notified, with a push notification on their phone if they use the mobile app. Members can react to announcements, discuss them, and talk in the group chat. Profanity in group chat is filtered automatically, and in the mobile app members can block someone or report a message. Reports land on a moderation page for your staff.

Hover to read the chat.

Message the group…

Everyone in the group can chat. A leader can turn chat off for a group.

Public, members-only and approval-only groups

Two separate settings decide who can see a group and who can join it. A group can be public, members-only or unpublished. Joining can be open, or it can require the leader’s approval, in which case the button reads Request to Join.

So a recovery group can stay off the public site, and a Tuesday Bible study can be visible to everyone but still approval-only.

Small group attendance tracking

The leader records who came from the Attendance tab at the end of a meeting. When someone misses several meetings in a row, they show up in the Follow-up Queue, so the leader knows who to call.

The queue starts after three missed meetings in a row. The leader can change that to any number from 1 to 10, so a group that meets monthly can have its own. They can also snooze someone for 30 days, or stop tracking a person who no longer needs it.

Frequently asked questions

Do group leaders need admin access?

No. A group leader can approve members, post, add events, take attendance and edit the group's page without access to the rest of your site.

Can visitors find our groups on the church website?

Yes. Published groups appear on your church website, and you choose which ones show in the Groups section of your home page.

Can a group be private?

Yes. Turn on Members Only and the group is hidden from visitors to your website and shown only to signed-in members.

Can a leader approve who joins?

Yes. Turn on Requires Approval and new people send a join request that the group leader approves or declines.

How does attendance tracking work?

Do group members get notifications?

Yes. When a leader posts to the group feed, the group's members are notified, with a push notification on their phone if they use the mobile app.

Are groups included on the free plan?

Yes. Groups are included on every plan, including the free plan for up to 10 active accounts.
