Getting Started

Complete the setup wizard

The setup wizard collects the basics — logo, theme, service times, contact info — that make your church site look like yours.

The setup wizard walks you through the eight things that take your church site from a generic template to something that looks and feels like your church. You can pause and resume anytime — your progress is saved.

What the wizard covers

  1. Welcome — a quick intro to what's ahead.
  2. Church basics — your church's name, tagline, and a one-paragraph description that appears on your home page.
  3. Subdomain — the URL you'll share with your members. Defaults to your church name (e.g. gracechurch.easychurchapp.com).
  4. Logo — upload your church logo (and an optional white version for dark backgrounds).
  5. Theme — pick brand colors. There's a live preview so you can see how it'll look.
  6. Service times — set your Sunday morning, midweek, and any other regular services.
  7. Contact info — address, phone, email. Appears in your site footer and on the contact section.
  8. Sections — choose which sections show on your home page (hero, events, groups, leaders, giving, contact).

A few tips

  • You don't need everything ready — anything you skip in the wizard you can fill in later from /admin/settings. The Launch Checklist on your dashboard will remind you.
  • The theme step is the most fun — even small color changes make the site feel more like home. Don't overthink it; you can change it anytime.
  • Subdomain is permanent for now — picking your slug right matters because changing it later breaks links you may have shared. If you're not sure, use your church's most common short name.

What happens after

When you finish, you land on the admin dashboard. The Launch Checklist will show "Complete setup wizard" as ✓ done, and surface the next things to set up — a custom domain (if you want one), connecting your bank account for online giving, inviting leaders and members.
