The setup wizard walks you through the steps that turn your church site from a generic template into something that looks like yours. You can pause and resume anytime. Your progress is saved.
What the wizard covers
- Welcome: a quick intro to what's ahead.
- Church basics: your church's name, tagline, a short description, your city, and the main language your congregation uses (English, Spanish, Korean, or English alongside Spanish or Korean).
- Your URL: the address you'll share with members, which defaults to your church's name (for example,
gracechurch.easychurchapp.com). Your church is created at this step. - Logo: upload your logo. You can skip this and add it later, along with a white version for dark backgrounds, in Church Details.
- Theme and colors: pick brand colors and preview them live.
- Service times: Sunday morning, midweek, and anything else regular.
- Contact info: address, phone, email, which shows up in your site footer and contact section.
- Plan: start free, or pick a paid plan.
- Giving: choose how members will give, or decide later.
- Billing: only if you picked a paid plan.
- Done: your church is live.
Which home page sections show (hero, events, groups, leaders, giving, contact) isn't a wizard step. You change that afterward in the page builder.
What you can skip for now
Anything you don't fill in during the wizard, you can add later from Settings. The Launch Checklist on your dashboard tracks what's left, so skipping a step doesn't mean losing track of it.
The theme step is worth a minute even so. Small color changes make the site feel more like home, and you can change them again anytime.
Subdomain is the one to get right the first time
Your subdomain isn't locked by policy, but changing it later breaks any link you've already shared, so treat it as permanent. If you're not sure what to pick, use your church's most common short name.
What happens after
When you finish, you land on your dashboard. The Launch Checklist shows "Complete setup wizard" as done, and surfaces what's next: a custom domain (if you want one), connecting your bank account for online giving, and inviting leaders and members.
