Get the app on your phone

EasyChurchApp is on the App Store and Google Play. Here is how to point your members at it and what to do before you announce it.

In this article

Your church's app is called EasyChurchApp, and members sign in to see your church inside it. It is the same account they already use on your website: one email, one password, both places.

Where to get it

iPhone and iPad: search EasyChurchApp on the App Store, or send people straight to apps.apple.com/us/app/easychurchapp/id6776878003.

Android: search EasyChurchApp on Google Play, or send people straight to play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.easychurchapp.app.

Both stores are live, so you can announce it to everyone rather than to half of them.

The app is built for phones, not tablets. On an Android tablet or an iPad it will run, but it is laid out for a phone-sized screen.

What a member does the first time

  1. Install it from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open it and sign in with the email and password they use on your website.
  3. That is it: they land on your church.

There is no separate church code to type in and no second account to create. Someone with no account yet has two ways in: an invitation from you (see Invite church members), or finding your church by name inside the app and asking to join. The second only works while member sign-ups are switched on for your church. They're approved straight away unless you've turned off auto-approve or your plan is full.

"I don't have a password"

This is the most common one, and it usually means they have never set one. A member who was imported from a spreadsheet, or added by a staff member, has an account but may not have chosen a password yet.

Open them in the People page and use Resend invite at the bottom of their record. It emails them a link to set a password, and once that is done the app will let them in. The button only appears for someone who has never signed in.

Before you tell everyone

Two things worth doing first, in this order:

  1. Sign in yourself, on your own phone. Look at what a member sees. If your events are empty or your groups have no descriptions, they will notice.
  2. Invite a handful of people, not the whole church. A few members who will tell you honestly when something is confusing are worth more than two hundred who quietly give up.

Then announce it.
